
The Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC) Committee on Child Participation conducted an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign at Toybongan Elementary School, Tabaan Norte, Tuba, Benguet, at around 3:00pm – 5:00pm, aimed at promoting children’s rights, child protection, and awareness against bullying and abuse.
The program formally opened with welcome remarks from Ma’am Glenda T. Pagnas, Teacher VI, who welcomed the participants and expressed support for activities that promote children’s welfare, protection, and active participation in the community.

Members of the MCPC Committee on Child Participation, led by MCPC Secretariats Clyde A. Dangpas, Julyn M. Ayban, and Precy T. Tayamora, distributed school kits to the learners as part of the committee’s support for the educational needs and well-being of children.
The activity was attended by Hon. Beauregard Arthur P. Palispis, MCPC Committee on Child Participation Chairperson, together with Child Representatives from Taloy Sur and Nangalisan, Anica Mae L. Bengwasan, Ana Mae Grace B. Patras, and Kalista Gale A. Espiritu, showcasing the active involvement of children in promoting meaningful participation within the municipality.

During the program, Ms. Haydee J. Hacyabon, SWO I, discussed children’s rights and responsibilities and valuable lessons on recognizing safe touch and bad touch to help children better understand personal safety and protection.
Discussions on bullying, Republic Act No. 11930 (OSAEC and CSAEM Act), and Republic Act No. 7610 were also conducted by PEMS Jenny Lyn A. Bengwasan, PCpl Flora P. Bayangan, and PSSg. Desiree Y. Sabelo, strengthening awareness on child protection and the prevention of abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.
The activity is one of the MCPC’s continuing commitments to Strengthening Child Participation for a Better Nation, empowering children to become active partners in building a safer, more inclusive, and child-friendly community. /WB
