APPLYING FOR BENGUET SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Service Description: The Benguet Scholarship is a program of the Provincial Government of Benguet in a form of providing cash to the
scholar to augment the insufficient income of the family. This is provided to those poor but deserving students who want to pursue
a college or vocational education. A maximum of eight (8) applicants are selected in the municipality by a committee and indorsed to
the Province of Benguet for further selection of the final six (6) scholarship grantees.

Service Description: The One Town One Scholar is a program of the CHED that provides scholarship to deserving but less-privileged high school graduates
who want to pursue a college education. Screening is done in the municipality and the result is forwarded to CHED. Those who would like to avail
of the program may apply at the HRMO. The applicant must be a resident of Tuba, Benguet, a fresh high school graduate, must belong to the top
10 in the school where he/she was graduated, belonging to a poor family that cannot affort to send the student-applicant to college and not a
recipient of any scholarship grants public or private.

AVAILING OF THE SPECIAL PROGRAM FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF STUDENTS (for student applicants)
Service Description: The SPES aims to help poor but deserving students and out-of-school youth in pursuing their education by encouraging their
employment during summer vacation. It was created under R.A. 7323. The program is conducted every year. Participants are assigned to work
in SPES registered private establishments, government institutions and departments. Work duration is a minimum of 15 but not more than
45 days. Partricipants are entitled to at least a minimum wage. Of this, 60% is paid by the employer and the 40% is paid by the Dept. of
Labor and Employment (DOLE). Applications are submitted at the Tuba Public Employment Service Office starting February until March of the
year. The applicants must meet the following minimum criteria: 1. 15 to 25 years old; 2. Enrolled during the present school lyear/semester
immediately preceding the summer vacation or a drop-out who intends to enroll again; 3. Parents’ net income after tax does not exceed
P36,000.00 per annum; 4. No failing grades.

PROCESSING OF APPLICATION FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCES
Service Description: Permanent, Temporary, casual and elective municipal officials are entitled to vacation leave, sick leave and other
privilege leaves. Employee and official accrue leave credits, 1.25 each for vacation and sick leave every month. Actual leaves are
deducted from these leave credits. Applications for vacation leave must be filed at least 5 days before the leave. For sick leaves,
the application must be filed immediately upon return of the employee to work.
