The Municipality of Tuba joins the celebration of the 2026 National Women’s Month. Mayor Sal-ongan issued Memorandum No. 041-02-2026 on February 26, 2026 for the 2026 Women’s Month Celebration.
Under the memo, all municipal officials and employees are enjoined to wear purple or lavender every Wednesday for the whole Month of March as a symbol of solidarity in promoting women’s empowerment, gender equality, and inclusive development.
Aligned with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal No. 5, the 2026 celebration emphasizes the need to invest in women to accelerate social and economic progress globally. This celebration will provide a venue in educating communities about the importance of gender equity, respect and inclusivity:
• On March 13, 2026, a Women’s Summit will be conducted to strengthen women’s development in all aspect of community life and make recommendations for actions thereon. Also, on March 17, 2026, the Tuba Women’s Federation shall elect among themselves Women Officials for a Day who will sit as Municipal Officials on said date.
• Seminar on “Creating Supportive Workplaces: Safe Spaces and Mental Wellness for Tuba Municipal Employees on March 18 and 19, 2026 at the 1st Floor, Old PNP Building, Poblacion, Tuba, Benguet
• Observance of Girl-Child Week on March 23-27, 2026 where members of the GFPS, Tuba MOVE, PNP-Tuba and other partners will conduct school-based information sessions, free hair-cut and “Sogod tan Pankaltib ni Koho” at Ligay Elementary School, Torre Elementary School and at Piminggan Elementary School on March 26, 2026.
