Delegates from the Municipality of Tuba, led by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), clinched first place in the Benguet Rescuelympics 2026 conducted on July 28, 2026, at the Benguet Sports Complex in Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet, as part of the celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month.
11 out of the 13 municipalities in Benguet participated in the competition, with each municipality fielding its own rescue team, including the Municipality of Tuba. The activity provided an opportunity for participating teams to demonstrate their preparedness, technical competence, and teamwork in various emergency response scenarios.
The competition featured a series of practical rescue events designed to test the participants’ knowledge, skills, and efficiency. These included Basic Life Support (BLS), Patient Transfer (Carries) Relay, Victim Packaging and Unpacking, Water Bucket Relay, Crashed Vehicle Extrication and Rescue, Knot Tying and Its Applications, and Search, Rescue, and Retrieval with Radio Communication Test.
Demonstrating exceptional coordination, discipline, and proficiency in emergency response, the Tuba Rescue Team consistently performed well across the different events, ultimately securing the overall championship among the participating municipalities.
